Description: Provision and receipt of specialty health care services through a broad geographic network of providers in 13 clinics throughout San Diego, Riverside and Imperial Counties.

Languages: All

The Telemedicine Program at La Maestra enables access to a broad range of specialty services to patients who are able to remain in the familiar surrounding of La Maestra. It is a video conferencing capability between clinics and specialty regional providers. Continuity of Care is more likely when patients are able to get the services they need in a single visit or without having to travel great distances. Providers are able to be more productive, without the need to travel between sites to see patients or to attend meetings.

Telemedicine technology provides the opportunity to expand the range of specialty services provided in a single clinic location. A patient can visit with a specialty physician from the clinic location of their choice using video conferencing. Services provided include:

Cardiology

Psychology

Podiatry

Urology

Support/Education

OB/GYN

Dental

Pediatrics

Dermatology

The program offers a view into the future of medicine where testing, screening, diagnosis and ultimately treatment can be managed from anywhere.

 Funding / Specialty Programs

Under a grant through the Council of Community Clinics the Center for Telemedicine Technology and eHealth Center (CTEC) (http://www.cttconline.org/ ) has provided initial 2 year program and equipment funding enabling 11 clinic sites to hook-into the Telemedicine Network.
