   LEGAL ADVOCACY SERVICES  (LMLAS)

People who face discrimination or other rights violations often find it difficult to decide what to do first and where to turn for help. La Maestra Legal Advocacy Services will advocate on your behalf and will assist you in identifying your rights and options as a survivor. LMLAS is designed to provide assistance and support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking and other crimes. The legal advocates do not act as attorneys, but will give you information and referrals that will help you make informed decisions.

La Maestra Legal Advocacy Services (LMLAS) offers not only free consultations and referrals, but can also offer you help with:
 Finding safe housing (emergency shelter, safe living, etc.)
 Personal safety plans
 Translation services

Our unit will connect you to our network of attorneys and legal resources that can assist you with the following:
 Family lawyers for visitations, custody, divorce, legal separations, child support, etc.
 Free legal services for survivors of crime
 Labor related legal issues
 Legal services related to housing issues
 Consumer Services
 Immigration

La Maestra Advocacy Services would appreciate any assistance. The generosity from the community allows us to continue give the best quality of care to our patients, and in turn, to our community.
In regards to certain circumstances, donations of slightly used or new clothing and shoes would provide clients with a foundation on which to build their lives upon. Donations of any kind would be used towards creating baskets and packages that might include hygienic items and other basic items necessary for be-ginning a better and healthier life.

LMLAS works closely with other departments within La Maestra.
The Family Wellness department and Patient Advocates provide services that help all patients lead to a happy and healthier life, and provide mental health services to children, adults, and adolescents.
They offer help dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, domestic violence and many other issues revolving around an individuals mental well-being.

We Provide Assistance For Victims of:

 Domestic Violence Restraining Order (DVRO)
 Safe At Home Confidential Addresses
 Victim Compensation Program (VCP)

There are many ways to contribute to our services. They include :
